The New England Patriots are in a unique position at QB, and another potential QB option is now off the market. Tampa Bay and impending free agent QB Baker Mayfield have reached a deal, less than 24 hours before the start of the legal tampering period, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal is reportedly for 3 years, $100 million with a max out of $115 million with incentives, and $50 million of the contract is guaranteed.

This is another option that is now officially unavailable for the Patriots, a team in desperate need of QB help. It was announced earlier in the day that the Patriots traded 2021 first-round QB Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth-round pick.
It is becoming increasingly likely that the New England Patriots will draft a QB early in the upcoming NFL draft.
